Aloft Hotel in Homewood acquired by Opelika-based hotelier

Aloft Birmingham Soho Square, the 111- room hotel in Downtown Homewood, has been acquired by Opelika-based PHD Hotels.

Built on the former site of Homewood City Hall, the five-story Aloft hotel, which opened in 2009, is located at 1903 29th Avenue S.

In addition to the rooms, the hotel features:

  • Meeting space 
  • Indoor pool 
  • 24-hour fitness centerRe:fuel, a grab-and-go snack bar
  • W XYZ Bar, a live music venue

The hotel is also within walking distance of several popular Homewood eateries and commercial establishments including:

According to its website, PHD Hotels has developed and managed Home 2 Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Townhouse Suites and Arbor Suites in Huntsville, Madison, Decatur, Prattville, Montgomery, Troy, Auburn and Opelika.
