8 enchanting Witches Rides to experience this October

Grab your broom and prepare to fly! Witches Rides are back this fall across Birmingham with costumes, candy and great causes.

We’ve rounded up eight rides you won’t want to miss! Read on for details and how to sign up.

1. Cullman Witches Ride

  • What: Head to downtown Cullman on October 19 for the Les Dames of Cullman’s 4th annual Witches Ride. This family-friendly event kicks off with fall festivities like games, candy stops and photo ops, followed by a witches ride and parade. Be sure to dress up for a chance to win best costume!
    • Event proceeds help provide feminine hygiene products to Cullman County Schools throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

2. Star Lake Witches Ride

  • What: Hop on your bike or golf cart and party with a purpose during this witches ride benefiting the Green Valley Church Food Bank. You can expect tons of entertainment, from witchy costumes to a candy parade (be sure to bring some to throw). Prizes will be awarded to the best decorated “broom.” 
    • Everyone is welcome to attend, but participants must be women ages 18+.

3. Bluff Park Witches Ride

  • What: This is no ordinary Witches Ride—this one includes a candy parade! Participants will either walk, ride a bike or use a golf cart, while tossing candy to spectators along the route. Everyone’s welcome to dress up, so start planning and let your creativity fly!

4. Witches Ride of Hueytown

  • What: Mark your calendars for the Witches Ride in Hueytown. Enter contests for best costume, broom, bike or golf cart, then follow the ride to the It’s Fall Y’all Fest for food and family-friendly activities.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 25 | 3-4PM
  • Where: Hueytown Library, 1372 Hueytown Rd, Hueytown, AL 35023
  • Cost: $10 in advance | $15 day of

5. Cahaba Heights Witches Ride

  • What: Don’t miss your chance to ride with the witches through Cahaba Heights during this 3rd annual get-together. There will be must-see costumes and community fun. Participants must be ages 18+.
    • Event proceeds support Magic Moments. 
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 25 | 3:30-4:30PM
  • Where: Ball Fields by Cahaba Heights Elementary School + New Merkle Center, 2150 Hollis Crossings, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243

6. Trussville Witches Ride

  • What: Another fun Witches Ride rolls through Trussville this October and you’ll want to be part of the coven. This year’s event benefits Olivia Ulbricht, a local three-year-old facing ongoing medical expenses after a heart transplant. Brooms take off at 5 PM with a police escort leading the way and touch down at Ferus Artisan Ales for an after-party filled with food, drinks and music.

7. Moody Witches Ride

  • What: Don’t miss this special event benefiting The Arc of St. Clair County, AL. This year’s ride includes a parade, a trunk or treat and local vendors offering unique find and tasty treats.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 25
    • Ride: 4-4:30PM
    • Trunk-or-Treat: 4:30-7PM

8. Homewood Witches Ride

  • What: The Homewood Witches Ride is back for its 13th year and you’ll want to be part of the fun. This Halloween tradition begins with a fall festival featuring a DJ, inflatables and local food trucks, followed by a Witches Ride with more than 500 participants!. 
    • This year’s event benefits the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. 
  • When: Sunday, Oct. 26
    • Family Fall Festival: 2PM
    • Ride: 5:30PM
