Cahaba Landing Development buys Hoover’s Bains Bridge property
According to the City of Hoover, the upcoming project will be on nearly 20,000 square feet on Old Montgomery Highway at the Cahaba River Bridge.
“We are blessed to have a tremendous amount of the Cahaba River flowing through our city. We recognized years ago, when the property became available, that it would allow us to partner in building an amazing development like Cahaba Landing.
I’m excited to see this project move forward and believe it will be an incredible family/entertainment amenity that we can all be proud of.”
Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato
Coining the name “Cahaba Landing,” the site price will be determined by a third-party appraiser based on the fair market value.
Cahaba Landing Development will own the upper portion of the property and transform it into a space for co-working offices, events and family-friendly entertainment, while the City of Hoover will own the lower portion to grow its plans for parks, greenways and blueways along the Cahaba River.
“We appreciate the City’s leadership in planning and investing in an active Cahaba River blueway, and we are excited that the Council shares our vision for transforming this former industrial site into a thriving community hub alongside the river.”
Hunter Strickler, Cahaba Landing Development Principal
