K&J’s Elegant Pastries launches new vending machine to serve desserts 24/7

Good news for lovers of all things sweet: One of the most coveted local bakeries in Birmingham now has a new vending machine. Get ready for 24/7 access to some fresh-baked pastries and desserts.

K&J’s Elegant Pastries, known for its decadent cupcakes and elaborate milkshakes, has set up a vending machine outside of their uptown store along City Walk BHAM,

“We’ll have 24 hours of K&J’s, so when we’re closed on Sundays and Mondays and in the evening, people will be able to walk up and purchase cupcakes and slices of cakes. I’m so excited!”

Why they got a vending machine

Having 24-hour access to cupcakes wasn’t on Bryant’s mind until she hosted her 4-year-old niece’s birthday party for a couple of hours on a Sunday, when they are typically closed. 

“We turned around probably 60 people in those two hours who were walking up thinking we were open. I had to put signs on the door that said, ‘Sorry, we’re not opening.’”

That night, her husband came up with the idea to install the vending machine to serve as many customers as possible while still ensuring they were serving a quality product. 

Shipping nationwide

The new vending machine isn’t the only way to get your hands on her cupcakes. 

Bryant’s fans are so ravenous that she has decided to start shipping her cupcakes, allowing people from all over the country to get a taste of K&J’s. A lot of work went into this, so the process took some time, but they are finally ready to ship. 

“We ordered from all these online bakeries to see what their packaging was like. How did they come? Did they stay in place?… I want it to be perfect. I worked with my graphic designer to design the perfect box, and then get the sample boxes to come over, make sure they work, and then go to production. We’ve been working on that for probably three months.”

The K&J’s “customer favorites box” is priced at $109 for 12 cupcakes. The flavors included are:

• Ooey Gooey Butter Cake
