As we’ve been sifting through upcoming gatherings, one particular event location caught our attention: Haven. They recently curated a fun party for Phish fans before and after their Saturday night show in Birmingham, and we crashed it (respectfully).

This event was so fun, and it’s just one example of what this venue is bringing to the table for memorable moments in and around Birmingham. Read on to learn how you can host your next great event at this unique space.

But first: How this event space transformed for Phish fans

Regardless if you were a fan attending one of the band’s sold-out shows in Birmingham, you’ve got to admire the attention to detail and creativity that went into creating this event.

It was called Lawn Boy Lounge—Phish fans will recognize the reference to the band’s second album—and there were themed drinks, special before and after-show bites, good tunes and great times. The team at Haven worked with fans and created it for fans, and the attention to detail showed.

Here are just some of the drinks we spotted guests sipping—chock full of Phish references, of course:

The Divided Sky Spritz: Aperol, prosecco, club soda + orange
Golgi Appar-tini: vodka, cranberry juice, Cointreau, lime juice + orange peel
Tweezer Margarita: tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice + simple syrup

This historic, 101-year-old building is conveniently situated between downtown and the bustling Lakeview district. Here’s what to know:

Location: 2515 6th Ave S
Space: There’s 22,000 square feet to play with here, but more intimate events can utilize smaller portions of the space as needed, and it can comfortably fit anywhere from 150 to 1,300 people.
The details: Existing sound + light systems are available as part of event rentals, but the team will work with you to pick out packages that are fully customizable.
What’s to drink + eat? The team at Haven is here to help. They’ve got preferred catering vendors who are familiar with the space, and Haven will also help you craft your beverage plan, too. They really make it easy to get to the fun part!
