Vapor Ministries, the nonprofit behind the thrift stores, recently purchased 3.74 acres on Mary Taylor Road in Trussville, adjacent to Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers just off U.S. Highway 11.

6. BBQ Stop | Clay

BBQ Stop, a local barbecue joint in Clay, has closed indefinitely. According to posts on social media, the restaurant is seeking new management and a new location to revive the business.

“We will unfortunately remain closed this week as we regroup and prepare for the future.

Here’s where we are:

• We’re looking for more than just a manager—we need a committed partner or investor to help us rebuild and move forward.

• Our current location has code and building issues (and sits on a closed road with no concrete date for reopening), so we are planning a move to a new space.

• To make that possible, we’ll need both investment and a strong, reliable team in place”
