White Flowers Gallery, a local boutique that’s been around for nearly four decades, opened its new location on Rocky Ridge Road in Vestavia Hills on September 15th.

Founded in 1986 by Diana and Eric Hansen, White Flowers Gallery has operated out of the Brookwood Village shopping mall, Mountain Brook, downtown Homewood and—most recently—the Shops of Grand River in Leeds.

A beautiful, peaceful store filled with memories

White Flowers is more than a boutique with clothing and jewelry. It is stunningly beautiful and memorable.

My favorite item? A large photo of a white rose by Diana’s late husband Eric. Located in the heart of the store and printed on apparel, it is forever a reminder of their journey together.

“People love it here. They love to come in and just have a little peace in their life. They don’t have to buy anything. They can just walk around and enjoy being here. That’s what I like, too. They’ll notice things that Eric did, like his beautiful art.”

In addition to the photograph, there are two paintings by one of Birmingham’s most loved artists, Art Price. There is also a piece of a church from Connecticut that once resided at the Garage, the famous pub on Southside.

Of course, there are the items for sale, many with prints by Diana. There is a little bit of everything:

  • Baby clothes
  • Adult clothing
  • Custom Gifts
  • Handmade cards
  • Towels
  • Short-sleeve, long-sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirts
  • Handmade custom clothing
  • Jewelry
  • Aprons
  • and much more

“I do things that have meaning to them. When a person gives a gift, they’re giving more than just a sweatshirt. They’re giving a beautiful and meaningful thing.”
