Birmingham’s Roy Wood Jr. is in “Love, Brooklyn”
Born and raised in Birmingham, Roy Wood Jr. is a stand-up comic, actor and former Correspondent on The Daily Show. Wood Jr. is the son of civil rights journalist Roy Wood Sr., and never misses the chance to shout out Birmingham, specifically the local literacy organization I See Me, Inc.
Now, he’s featuring in Rachael Holder’s new film “Love, Brooklyn.”
“Love, Brooklyn” follows the life of a writer (André Holland) through his complicated relationships with his ex (Nicole Beharie) and current partner (DeWanda Wise).
Roy Wood, Jr. plays the role of his best friend.
As “a modern romance set against the rapidly changing landscape of Brooklyn, New York,” Love, Brooklyn already has raved reviews on its tenderness, elegance and mellow soundtrack.
