Looking for a heartwarming way to connect with the Birmingham community and support a great cause?

The Together in Teal Butterfly Release is fluttering back to Hoover this fall—and it’s a can’t-miss event for all ages. Hosted by the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation, this annual tradition is both a peaceful celebration and a powerful way to raise awareness for ovarian cancer.

Read on to hear all the details about this fun, uplifting event.

A Birmingham tradition: the annual butterfly release

This event is filled with hope, celebration and community. While it carries an important message about ovarian cancer awareness, it’s also a joyful and inspiring day where families, friends and supporters gather in the beauty of Aldridge Gardens to watch hundreds of butterflies take flight.

Releasing a butterfly is a symbolic gesture—one that honors those who have faced ovarian cancer as is celebrates the strength of survivors. It’s a moment of connection, reflection and shared support in a setting that feels serene.

“Just like the flutter of a butterfly’s wings, the signs of ovarian cancer can be subtle—but together, we can make a big impact.

Together in Teal is a day to raise awareness, share knowledge and celebrate the strength of women whose lives have been touched by this disease.

With no early detection test, knowing the symptoms is key, so let’s keep spreading the word and supporting one another.”
