Birmingham-Metro Labor Day gas prices cheaper than last year

According to AAA Alabama, the average price of a gallon of gas in Alabama is 22 cents cheaper this Labor Day week than last year.
Presently, Labor Day holiday gas for regular statewide is $2.77 compared to $2.98 during Labor Day week in 2024.
“We’ve been virtually unchanged in our gas prices for the last several months. When I say unchanged, we’ve been within five cents a gallon or so.”

Gas prices vary around the Birmingham Metro
Shelby County continues to offer gas prices about a nickel lower than the rest of the Birmingham Metro area at $2.69.
Here is how much the other metro counties pay on average for a gallon of gas, according to AAA:
- Blount County — $2.75
- Jefferson County — $2.74
- Shelby County — $2.69
- Walker County — $2.73
- St. Clair County — $2.72
The highest gas price in Alabama is Wilcox County at $3.01, while the lowest is Marshall County at $2.68.

- Bham to Gulf Shores — $60.42
