K1 Speed, a premier indoor electric kart racing operator with 105 locations worldwide, is opening a new space in Irondale at The Hill at Grants Mill.

The new venue is located at the former Southeastern Salvage site. It is expected to debut by early 2026, according to the Trussville Tribune.

The new Irondale location is the company’s second spot in the Birmingham Metro area and the state of Alabama. Their first indoor track opened in early 2024 at the former Autobahn and Accelerate Indoor Speedway in Bessemer.

This will be the third recreation/entertainment venue to open near Crestwood Boulevard between Birmingham and Irondale. In July, the much-anticipated Fun City Adventure Park opened in Crestwood Festival Center.

Last week, Armory Square Pickleball, a 24/7 recreation facility also opened its doors within the Festival Center development.
