Broadway’s biggest blockbuster comes to Birmingham

As the 4th-longest-running show in Broadway history, “Wicked” has been a household name even before the 2024 blockbuster hit of the same name. “Wicked” first hit the stages in 2003 and has since become a Broadway sensation, winning 100+ international awards—including a Grammy and three Tony Awards.

Loosely based on The Wizard of Oz, “Wicked” follows Elphaba—a smart, talented and misunderstood young woman born with emerald-green skin. After forming an unlikely friendship with popular, bubbly Glinda, Elphaba uncovers a trail of conspiracies that lead her right to the Royal Palace of Oz. With a thrilling score that includes hits like “Defying Gravity” and “Popular,” “Wicked” challenges the audience to examine what it means to be “good” and “wicked.”

1. Disney Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour

Fun for the whole family, Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour is a one-of-a-kind interactive live concert experience combining the chart-topping music from two of Disney’s popular franchises, “Descendants” and “Zombies.”

2. MercyMe, TobyMac and Matthew West 

Contemporary Christian band MercyMe is embarking on an eight-date tour this fall in support of their recent album, “Wonder & Awe,” along with fellow hitmakers TobyMac and Matthew West.

3. Jurassic Quest & Brick Fest Live 

With life-size animatronic dinosaurs and large-scale LEGO creations, Jurassic Quest & Brick Fest Live is a can’t-miss event for kiddos throughout Alabama! Families can see their favorite dinosaurs, participate in LEGO building activities and more.
