The Market at Pepper Place | Southside

The Market at Pepper Place has been ongoing since June 2000. That’s right, 25 years! Here you can expect a large crowd and live music. You’ll find local makers like Hinkel’s Bakery, Ireland Farms, Magic City Mushrooms and more. Their community partner is Sweet Grown Alabama, the state’s non-profit agricultural branding program.

Birdsong Farmers Market | Lakeview

Birdsong Farmers Market is a farmer-managed, grassroots farmers’ market in Lakeview. All vendors offer local, farm-produced food, which means prepared food made with organic and/or locally sourced farm ingredients. Currently, Birdsong has 10 vendors, ranging from bakeries and coffee shops to flowers and your typical farm produce.

Alabama Farmers’ Market is one of the 10 oldest farmer-owned and operated farmers’ markets in the US! The great thing about this market is that it’s open 7 days a week. They support family farms, and the farmers have a major say in the market, so you know you’ll get your produce fresh.

Trussville Fresh Farmers’ Market | Trussville

Support local in Trussville at the Fresh Farmers’ Market. It’s located at The Gateway, Trussville’s Entertainment District. There’s always something new going on, so check out their Facebook for what’s in-season, new vendors and other updates.

This local market is held directly in front of City Hall, adjacent to the train tracks. One of my favorite vendors had the cutest curation of clothes! The last market will be August 2, so grab your bags and head over. The market will feature live music and free watermelon!
