The new state-of-the-art outdoor music venue has become a popular addition to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex‘s (BJCC) campus, enabling it to host even more record-breaking entertainment in the Magic City.

What you missed during opening week at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater

To kick off the Coca-Cola Amphitheater’s inaugural concert season in style, Live Nation assembled a diverse assortment of performances during its opening week.

  • Popular comedian Matt Rife christened the live music venue on Sunday, June 22, during his 2025 Stay Golden Tour.
  • On June 24, the Dave Matthews Band drew fans from across the state for the amphitheater’s first sold-out show.
  • The following night, legendary British 80s rockers Def Leppard rocked the house down after an unforgettable opening performance by glam rock band Poison.
  • On Saturday, June 28, Alabama native Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit led an electrifying set after a riveting performance from opener Band of Horses.

Whether you’re seeing Alabama Shakes or James Taylor, the venue experience can make or break any live performance. When it comes to getting to and from the Amphitheater, the BJCC offers several safe, easy parking options, including:

During event days, 25th Street is pedestrian-only directly in front of the amphitheater; for guests who don’t want to walk, the BJCC runs a free shuttle service—the Uptown Jam Tram—from Uptown directly to the Coca-Cola Amphitheater.

The fun officially starts the second you’re inside the Coca-Cola Amphitheater. After grabbing food and drinks at one of the venue’s multiple eateries, you can find your seat and enjoy the show. With modern, state-of-the-art acoustics, the venue’s sound system will provide the best-possible live sound, whether you’re front row jumping with the die-hard fans or while watching the sun dip below the Birmingham skyline from the comfy stadium seats.
