Alabama Shakes, one of the most beloved modern rock bands hailing from Alabama modern rock–soul band, is officially reuniting right here in Birmingham. With soulful sound, powerhouse vocals and deep Alabama roots, the band is hitting the stage again—and area fans are ready to see them live.

Who is Alabama Shakes?

If you’re from Alabama, you’ve probably belted out “Hold On” at least once. Here’s why Alabama Shakes made national waves:

  • Formed in Athens, Alabama in 2009
  • Debuted with Boys & Girls in 2012, featuring the breakout single “Hold On”
  • Won four Grammys for their 2015 album Sound & Color
  • Fronted by solo Grammy winner Brittany Howard

They mix Southern rock, blues and soul in a way that’s both powerful and timeless. After a hiatus for nearly a decade, the band has officially reunited for a tour.
