RPI Rentals, a construction equipment rental company, is relocating its headquarters to Birmingham in a brand-new facility after outgrowing its current home in Bessemer.

The new location at 1802 John Rogers Drive is 24-acres, and the office and warehouse facility will span about 32,500 square feet, allowing RPI to grow its service department, inventory and equipment capacity.

The move is supporting RPI’s continued growth into East Alabama and Georgia, providing easy access to all three major interstates surrounding metro Birmingham.

“This move not only positions us closer to the heart of our customer base, but also gives us the space and resources to support our continued growth and future expansion. We’ve outgrown our existing facility, and this new location will allow us to scale our operations and create new opportunities for hiring and innovation.”

Cary Thomas, Vice President for RPI Rentals

RPI’s relocation and expansion represents a $9.6 million investment into Alabama’s construction and industrial services landscape—the June 2025 land purchase was $2.25 million, $7.25 million will be spent on new construction, and $100,000 will go into personal property and new equipment.

The expansion will also bring 17 new jobs to the city of Birmingham in management, sales, technical and administrative roles.

Construction is expected to be complete by June 2026.

“From the founding of the city, Birmingham has been home to bold entrepreneurs with ambitious plans to build and grow their companies.

RPI is an embodiment of this community value – their investment in Birmingham strengthens the construction and industrial backbone of our economy, brings high-quality jobs to our residents, and reinforces Birmingham’s role as a destination for business expansion.”
