Corbin Farms Winery, one of the oldest wineries in the South, is closing its doors on August 10.

In a social media post yesterday, the family-owned business announced the closing of its Calera winery and event location in a few short weeks. While the winery mentions it may be searching for future spots down the road, it remains open now for business and events—plus, they’re currently marking down existing inventory and merch.

In addition to producing Alabama fruit wines—muscadine, peach, pear and more—they also bring in grapes grown at select national vineyards to craft varietals like cabernet sauvignon, merlot and pinot noir right here in Alabama, too.

You can taste and purchase bottles and cases at their Calera location (just off I-65 near the Shelby County Airport), and you can pair those sips with delicious snacks and meals like:

  • Baked jalapeno-pimento cheese with pita chips
  • Grazing boards with thoughtfully-selected meats + cheeses to accompany their wines
  • Heartier fare like chicken salad sandwiches + summer salads

The winery was founded in 2005 and has been managed by the Corbin family since 2017.

“As we close this chapter after eight wonderful years, we are filled with gratitude for the relationships and memories we’ve created with our customers who have become family. Each bottle shared, every conversation and the laughter we’ve experienced together will always hold a special place in our hearts.

While we are exploring options for relocation, we remain uncertain about what the future holds. However, the love and support from this incredible community will continue to inspire us as we embark on our next journey.”

Matt Corbin, owner, Corbin Family Wines

You can support the winery in its final few weeks (for now!) by purchasing discounted merch and cases (pickup only) for 50% off.

They also have some upcoming events:
