How to stay safe during road construction

As we Birmingham natives know, traffic is always congested, especially when there is road construction. Here are a number of tips to help keep you safe while traveling:

  • Slow down: speed limits are often reduced due to construction so make sure to follow all necessary guidelines
  • Be attentive: make sure your following all protocols regarding roadside behavior when workers are present
  • Minimize distractions: put away your phone and avoid adjusting the radio
  • Avoid unnecessary lane changes
