Resource for Birmingham small businesses relaunches with new AI tool
Reading time: 2 minutes

NavigateBHM.com, a resource for small businesses across Birmingham and Alabama, has relaunched with a fresh look and new features. The site aims to help entrepreneurs find support and opportunities ASAP.
The website was created by Network Navigator, which was launched in May 2024 by Prosper to address a gap in resources for small and microbusinesses in Birmingham.
Prosper is a community nonprofit in Birmingham and Jefferson County that strives to make job creation, preparation, and access as inclusive as possible.
The new NavigateBHM.com is more than just a redesign — it’s about making sure every small business owner can find what they need, when they need it. Our goal is to create a seamless path to opportunity.

Here are some of the new features offered by the website:
- An AI-powered chat assistant, “Navi,” offers 24/7 help for users, connecting them to funding, finding technical assistance, and getting quick answers for their business questions.
- A “ Business Start Toolkit” provides entrepreneurs access to templates, guides, and checklists to help ideas turn into action.
- The updated design is more clean and modern, reflecting Birmingham’s small business community.
- Topics and resources have been organized to streamline website navigation. The new structure provides a clearer path to funding, support services, events, and statewide resources.
This fall, NavigateBHM.com also plans to introduce a tool to help small businesses connect with funding sources matched to their specific needs.
