BJCC climbs ranks of top venues in the world according to new Pollstar ranking

Earlier this month, Pollstar—the leading trade publication for the concert and live entertainment industry—released its 2025 Mid-Year Rankings of arenas, theaters, clubs, amphitheaters and stadiums/outdoor venues from around the world.
In a major achievement for Birmingham, two of the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex‘s venues—Legacy Arena and the BJCC Concert Hall—celebrated significant climbs in the rankings, further affirming their status as premier entertainment destinations.

The BJCC climbs in Pollstar’s 2025 Mid-Year Rankings

According to a press release, two of the BJCC’s premier venues generated significant ticket sales from November 14, 2024 to May 14, 2025.
- Legacy Arena generated $13,465,569 in gross revenue with 156,192 tickets sold.
- The BJCC Concert Hall generated $8,856,057 in gross revenue with 143,438 tickets sold.
Due to these strong performances, both venues made notable gains in Pollstar’s global industry rankings.
- Legacy Arena is now the #68 top-grossing arena worldwide, up from #78 at the end of 2024.
- The venue also climbed to #35 in the U.S. for gross revenue, up from #49.
- In ticket sales, Legacy Arena climbed to #75 worldwide and #36 in the U.S.
- The BJCC Concert Hall is now the #44 top-grossing theatre in the world, up from #76 at the end of 2024.
- The BJCC Concert Hall advanced from #61 to #35 in the U.S. in gross revenue.
- In ticket sales, the Concert Hall jumped from #64 to #31 worldwide and from #64 to #22 in the U.S.
Fun Fact: The BJCC Concert Hall advanced more than 30 spots in both categories (ticket sales and gross revenue) since the 2024 year-end report.

The BJCC is expecting an even stronger second half of 2025

The BJCC is set to finish out the second half of 2025 in an even bigger way, with massive upcoming events such as:
- Two concerts by country music singer Cody Johnson, one of which is already sold out
- A sold-out arena stop on Christian worship singer/songwriter Brandon Lake’s tour
- The highly anticipated Chris Brown concert at Protective Stadium
- A three-week run of the hit Broadway musical Wicked
Many more major events are set to be announced soon, solidifying the BJCC’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class entertainment.
