If you’re looking for some of the best Fourth of July fireworks and festivals around the Greater Birmingham Area, you’ve come to the right spot. We’ve rounded up 13 events featuring everything from live music to delicious food, and of course, stunning fireworks shows you’ll never forget.

1. I Love America Night @ Wald Park, Vestavia Hills

  • What: Your family will have a blast during I Love America Night at Wald Park. There will be free swimming at the Vestavia Hills Aquatic Center followed by kids’ activities, food vendors, live music and must-see fireworks.

2. Chelseafest & The Big Kaboom @ Chelsea Corners Way

  • What: Chelsea’s city-wide annual Independence Day festival returns on June 28, and you won’t want to it. Along with featuring good music and local food trucks, the event ends with one of Alabama’s largest fireworks shows.

3. City of Hoover Fireworks Show @ Hoover Met parking lot

  • What: You can enjoy 30 minutes of fabulous fireworks from the comfort of your car on July 1. Just drive to the parking lot at the Hoover Met, tune your radio to 87.9FM for a music broadcast and gaze up at the sparkling sky.

4. City of Alabaster Fireworks Show @ Thompson High School

  • What: Celebrate the Fourth of July two days early at this event in Alabaster. It will be a memorable night with food trucks, bounce houses, tunes from the Coca Cola Music Truck and fireworks.

5. Old Town Live – Cracker + The Record Company 4th Celebration @ Helena Amphitheater

  • What: Grab your crew and head to Helena for a celebratory evening under the stars. Live entertainment kicks off the event with music from Cracker followed by an electrifying performance with The Record Company that’s paired with a stunning fireworks show.

6. Independence Day Celebration with Birmingham Barons @ Regions Field

  • What: Gather your friends and head to Regions Field on July 3 for baseball, fireworks, food and fun. The Birmingham Barons take on the Chattanooga Lookouts, and it’s going to be a great game.

7. Hueytown’s 2nd Annual Red, White & Boom Patriotic Celebration @ Hueytown City Park

  • What: On July 3, about 20 minutes west of downtown Birmingham, you’ll find an exciting red, white and blue event in Hueytown. This is the area’s second annual festival filled with star-spangled entertainment for all ages, including face painting, crafts, yard games, music, inflatables and fireworks after sunset. Tip: Bring a chair or blanket.

8. Fire on the Water @ Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham

  • What: Oak Mountain State Park is the perfect place to spend time enjoying Independence Day festivities, including fireworks. Throughout the day on July 3, there will be food and beverage vendors onsite, plus tons of activities including fishing piers, basketball courts, beach volleyball and water rentals for kayaks, canoes and more. Note: Coolers are welcome, but no alcohol is permitted.

  • What: Thunder on the Mountain returns this year for its annual July 4 celebration. This must-see spectacular features more than 2500 fireworks + effects in a 20-minute show synchronized to a patriotic soundtrack. Music is broadcast on iHeartMedia Birmingham radio stations, including 102.5 The Bull, 103.1 The Vulcan, 103.7 The Q and more. Find a spot near Vulcan, look up at the sky and enjoy the show.

13. Homewood 4th of July Festival @ Downtown Homewood

  • What: If you’re looking to entertain your family or friends, downtown Homewood’s annual Fourth of July celebration is a great choice. The fun kicks off at 5PM along 18th Street South and 29th Avenue South with inflatables and rides for kids, music from a local DJ and interactive activities for all. Tip: Be sure to bring chairs! Downtown Homewood is one of the best locations in Birmingham to see the Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show from Vulcan Park & Museum beginning at 9PM.
