New Chinese restaurant, The 3 Delights, opens this summer in Southwest Birmingham

A new restaurant is opening soon in Southwest Birmingham, and it will offer Chinese food, wings and more.

Behind The 3 Delights in Southwest Birmingham

The restaurant, which is taking over the former Rally’s location on 31st Street South in Birmingham near Germania Park, will be run by a local family that’s been in the food and service industry for 27 years in Fairfield.

We spoke with co-owner Carime Sanchez to find out what led to her family opening The 3 Delights:

“This isn’t just another restaurant to us, it’s a lifelong dream finally coming true. After years of managing restaurants for other people, we’re finally opening one of our own. 

My sister and I are doing this together to give our dad something he’s always wanted: the joy of being a restaurant owner. It’s been a long time coming, and we’re putting our hearts into every bit of it.”

What’s on The Three Delights menu?

As the saying goes, good things come in threes, and the restaurant name is based on the three main items they serve: Chinese food, wings and fried seafood.  

Here’s a look at some of the menu items:

• Appetizers—fried rice, fried noodles, okra, shrimp puffs
• Soups—egg drop, hot + sour, chicken noodle 
• Flavored wings—lemon pepper, barbecue, honey mustard
• Main courses—beef Lo Mein, sweet + sour chicken, sesame chicken
• And more!

All items are made fresh, hot and ready to order. The restaurant is also strictly takeout, so you can drive through, walk up to the window or call in your order for pick up. 

When is The Three Delights opening in Birmingham?

Carime told us they are in the final stages of passing inspections and obtaining their food permit, but hope to open the restaurant by the end of July.
