NEW Longtime Highland Park gas station sells land for $4M
Tom & Jerry’s Chevron (Bham Now)

The Chevron station on the corner of Highland Avenue is changing hands. The convenience store has sold its land for $4.3 million, according to a recent report by the Birmingham Business Journal.

Read on for details.

Locally owned for 40+ years

The Chevron, known as Tom and Jerry’s, was opened by Tommy Numnum and Jerry Chambers in 1981.

After Chambers retired, the gas station was run by Numnum and his son, who was the seller in the recent deal.

(Fun fact: This Birmingham gas station was the first Chevron location in the country to install pay-at-the-pump card readers.)

It was sold to Abdullah Baobad, cites the BBJ, who is associated with companies that own various convenience stores and package stores around town including the Shell gas station at 700 Valley Ave.
