Crazy Chicken, a new Mexican-style eatery, is now open in Gardendale

A new Mexican-style rotisserie chicken restaurant has officially opened its doors in Gardendale.

Crazy Chicken offers a flavorful fusion of Mexican chicken, ribs, seafood and various other traditional dishes.

The Gardendale Mayor Stan Hogeland and Chamber of Commerce attended the grand opening on April 28 to celebrate the city’s newest restaurant,

If you’re like me and tend to stick to the same restaurants, you won’t want to miss out on Crazy Chicken.

Owner Milton Rivas knew his concept of Mexican and traditional Southern cooking fusion would create a buzz in Gardendale. He initially had the idea of opening his own restaurant since he moved from Mexico and has been working since then.

Milton is originally from South Veracruz, México and has had a special love for the culinary scene for as long as he can remember. He learned all of his skills from working in various restaurants abroad and wanted to bring Gardendale a new food palette to enjoy.

“I’ve been cooking for 20 years and I’ve learned all kinds of different food—from Chinese to Japanese and Mexican. I am so excited to bring a little taste of my home country to Gardendale.”

• Mexican pasta: grilled chicken/steak cooked with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes
• Seafood molacajete: octopus, tilapia, shrimp, imitation crab and mussels in house sauce
• Alambres: chicken, steak, shrimp, pineapple, onion, bell pepper, rice and cream salad
• Pollo bueno: chicken breast and mixed vegetables, rice and beans with cheese sauce
• Milanesa de Pollo: breaded and fried chicken with rice, beans and salad

“People are so glad that there’s another restaraunt here. For the past 10 years there has been a bento box place and a soul food restaraunt that has unfortunately closed. We’re so glad to be here and that Gardendale is loving it so far.”
