The NFL’s Atlanta Falcons are hosting a Girls’ Flag Football Clinic at Legion Field on May 31st.

The three-hour NFL Flag sponsored clinic will focus on skills, drills and fundamentals.

Girls’ Flag Football and the NFL

One of the fastest growing sports in the U.S., in 2021, the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) launched Alabama’s first girls’ flag football championship.  That year 44 teams competed for the title.

Three years later, in 2024, 113 teams competed for a state championship across two classifications and overall participation increased 289% from the previous season!

FUN FACT: The 2024 State Champs — Central-Phenix City High School — was named the best girls’ flag high school team in America by USA Today.
