What we know about the new Craft’s in Birmingham
The clucky news was revealed in a Craft’s Instagram post on May 6. The video posted asked locals to drop their guesses in the comments on where the new restaurant would be.
If you’re a frequent Highway 280 traveler, the location is pretty easy to guess: the old Wendy’s at 2727 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35223 by the Hampton Inn, Finch Wines and Taziki’s.
This will be the restaurant’s third opening in the Greater Birmingham Area. Other locations include:
- 2118 7th Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233 | See our sneak peek of the restaurant’s 2023 opening.
- 49 Church Street, Mountain Brook, AL 35213—opened 2018
On the menu at Craft’s

Craft’s isn’t your typical chicken joint—it’s local and family-owned. If you’ve been in Birmingham for a long time, it was formerly known as Miss Dot’s.
The menu features Southern classics like fried chicken and more, such as quesadillas, wraps, bowls, salads and Mac and cheese.
When does Craft’s open on Highway 280?
The restaurant is in the early stages of construction, so there’s no open date just yet. But, as quickly as chicken joints pop up around the Greater Birmingham area, it likely won’t be a long wait.
