Itโ€™s a new week in The Magic City, and that means a new roundup of businesses popping up across town.

From a busy new development in Hoover to a new restaurant and bar in Five Points South, here are seven openings you need to know about. Plus, one local bar weโ€™re sad to see go.

1. Elite Skin Dermatology | Vestavia Hills

Elite Skin, a new dermatology clinic in Vestavia Hills, has opened on Montgomery Highway. The clinic specializes in general and cosmetic dermatology including skin cancer screenings, chemical peels and injectables.

2. Dear Prudence | Knox Square

Dear Prudence, a popular womenโ€™s boutique clothing store in Hoover, has moved from its home at Patton Creek Shopping Center to the new Village at Knox Square across from Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

Prudence Kauffman, the owner of Dear Prudence, told Bham Now she was attracted to Knox Square because of the number of local homegrown businesses moving there, including Salon 43 One, Ashley Mac’s and Farm Bowl.

3. 49th & Magnolia | Leeds

On April 11, a new furniture and design store officially opened its doors in Leeds. 49th & Magnolia offers a curated collection of rustic dรฉcor with a modern touch.

4. Sauce & Suds | Five Points South

In Five Points South, new chicken joint Sauce & Suds is gearing up for its grand opening on Saturday, April 26.

Over the past couple of months, owner Dennis Maple has transformed the former Black Market Bar & Grill space into his vision for Sauce & Suds, with new seating, decor and games throughout. The menu consists of beer and nearly 20 custom sauces to pair with wings or tenders.

5. Pasquale’s Pizza | Pell City

Pasqualeโ€™s Pizza is returning to Pell City with a new location coming later this year. The restaurant is known for Italian-inspired classics like stromboli, pizza and garlic bread.

6. Taziki’s | Knox Square

This spring, Tazikiโ€™s is opening its newest Birmingham-area location in Hoover. The fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant will be located at Knox Square, a development near the Hoover Met and Finley Center.

Tazikiโ€™s newest Hoover location will be its 13th in the Birmingham area and its 24th statewide.

7. Rainbow | Bessemer

Affordable fashion retailer Rainbow Shops is opening a new store in Bessemer. This will be the 7th Rainbow location in the Birmingham Metro area, including the Galleria Mall and Palisades.

8. The Lumbar | Pepper Place

The Lumbar in Pepper Place will close on Sunday, April 27. While they intend to relocate, they have not yet disclosed a new location.

The statement on its website reads:

“Our time in Pepper Place is coming to an end. We have to keep fighting for our safe space, for our found family, and for our community. We will find a second home and, with your help, we will make it our own. We love you. Thank you for 7 years and we canโ€™t wait for 70 more.”
