Why kids love summer camp at McWane

There is no shortage of amazing camp opportunities for Birmingham-area kids. As a parent, I know it can be a tough choice. Especially if you want your kids to be both entertained and educated.
The good news? McWane’s main goal is to provide educational opportunities through immersive, hands-on activities that let kids have fun while learning.
Camps are an especially important opportunity for kids in 4th-7th grade.
“For students in upper elementary and middle school, our camps help combat summer learning loss, ensuring they return to school energized and ready for new challenges.
Designed by our expert educators, Camp McWane activities are loved by kids, age-appropriate and aligned with Alabama science standards.”
Peggy Chowning, Vice President of Education, McWane Science Center
