How Make-A-Wish Alabama changed lives at its annual “Wish Night”
Reading time: 2 minutes

This past Saturday, Make-A-Wish Alabama hosted its memorable and heartwarming annual event—Wish Night—where the incredible power of wishes was celebrated.
One of the standout moments of the evening was the honoring of Melody, a young girl whose generous wish has left an indelible mark on her community.
A wish for Reeltown High School’s band
Melody’s wish wasn’t for herself—but for her high school band at Reeltown High School in Tallapoosa County, AL.
The school’s talented musicians have long dreamed of new uniforms to replace their worn-out ones, and—thanks to Melody’s selfless wish—that dream became a reality.
At the event, the Reeltown High School band took center stage, performing to rousing applause from the crowd.
“Records were broken, hope was ignited, and Birmingham showed up big for the 252 kids awaiting wishes. The mission moment with the Reeltown High School Marching Band, honoring Melody’s legacy wish, and the wish kid art with ASFA, were highlights. Birmingham’s generosity continues to make a real impact, and I couldn’t be more grateful!
At Make-A-Wish we believe that a wish is not just a dream—but a gift that has the power to change lives. Melody’s selfless wish reminds us all that kindness can create a huge impact.”

Their enthusiasm and gratitude during the performance were a powerful reminder of how a simple wish could create lasting change.
An evening of generosity and celebration

The success of the event—both in terms of funds raised and the unforgettable moments shared—has set the stage for many more wishes to be granted in the future.
Make-A-Wish Alabama continues its commitment to brightening the lives of children in need, with events like Wish Night providing a much-needed source of hope and inspiration.
