Dave Matthews Band, one of the biggest and most popular touring bands in America, is playing the inaugural concert at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater this summer on June 24.

General public tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 21 at 10AM Central.

Dave Matthews Band’s 8th Birmingham music venue

Fun fact about the newly inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band:  When they play at the newly christened amphitheater this summer, it will be the eighth Birmingham-area venue to host the legendary band.

Can you name the other seven? Here they are according to the DMBAlmanac.com:

  • Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center
  • Boutwell Memorial Auditorium
  • Oak Mountain Amphitheater
  • Louie Louie
  • The Nick
  • Zydeco
  • Magic Platter Record Store

Another interesting tidbit. The day the band played the Oak Mountain Amphitheater on October 15, 1994 opening for Phish. They also performed that day at an in-store concert at Magic Platter. There were two locations at the time, one in Hoover the other on Montevallo Road. We don’t know which one hosted that intimate concert.
