About the Poze Bazaar Foundation
In 2017, founder La’Vinnia Holliday found herself frustrated with an increase in violence among youth, specifically during summertime.
When I asked her about this, she said that she believes a lot of youth act out because they don’t have anywhere to put all of their energy.
“I’ve always used fashion as an outlet to express myself. So I said, ‘Okay, let’s do a fashion show to try to raise money for scholarships to help these children be involved in different arts programs.'”

La’Vinnia read the words “Poze: yourself as a powerhouse” on a magazine and thus, the Poze Bazaar Foundation was born.
“I said, ‘You know what? That’s it.’
Whether it’s what you’re doing right now, or what a child is doing when it comes to art, music or dance—they’re a powerhouse in their right. We want to nurture and celebrate that.”

The Foundation was reorganized in 2021 as a 501c (3) nonprofit and has stayed dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of the creative arts, culture and education.
The nonprofit partners with local organizations like:
- Prescott House Child Advocacy Center
- Alabama A&M University
- The University of Alabama at Birmingham
- The Dance Foundation
Poze Bazaar Foundation allows youth to express themselves creatively
Through dance classes, sending art teachers to local schools, fashion shows and more, Poze Bazaar Foundation “fosters a future where creativity and the arts thrive.”
But their impact doesn’t stop with the arts.
“We’re an organization that gives scholarships not only for the artistic disciplines but also for traditional disciplines.
If you want to write, or if you’re in tech or medicine, we want the opportunities to be equal all around.”

Check out a few recent awards Poze Bazaar Foundation made possible:
- $3,000 in scholarships to first-year students at Alabama A&M University + the University of Alabama
- Theatre students from Build UP Community School had the unique chance to learn history of the arts, film + entertainment industry in Atlanta and discover how a leading entertainment company realized its vision.
