Cobblestone Inn and Suites announced this month it is building its 4th location in the state of Alabama. This time on Main Street, only blocks away from the University of Montevallo.

The hotel will be located at 555 Main Street, across from City Hall at the corner of Main Street and Shelby Street.

New Montevallo hotel will have 54 rooms and suites

About a decade in the making, Montevallo’s City Clerk Steve Gilbert said the former Victory Autos & Collision Center building was demolished this past December enabling hotel construction to move forward this spring.

The new hotel will feature:

  • 54 rooms + suites
  • A daily continental breakfast
  • An Indoor pool
  • Business center, Conference room + Meeting area

Serving 200,000+ visitors

According to Courtney Bennett, Executive Director of Montevallo Main Street, a couple of years ago, the town determined through an informal study that at least 200,000 visitors come through Montevallo every year.

“From games and events at the University, to people visiting the National Cemetery, to all of the things happening at American Village, and the multiple festivals and events hosted by the city every year, this will open up a space for people to extend their stay in our town and be able to support our local businesses.

I expect a significant uptick in traffic at our Main Street restaurants and retailers, and the city will be able to reinvest this new revenue stream into making our town a better place to live and visit.

This has been a goal of ours for many years, and I am excited to see Cobblestone break ground soon!””

Courtney Bennett, Executive Director, Montevallo Main Street

The new hotel will be a great addition to downtown Montevallo, which is considered by many to be one of Alabama’s most charming communities.
