There’s no better way to celebrate the season than with live music by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra (ASO). This December, they’re adding some magic to the holidays with two must-see ticketed performances, plus several free festive concerts throughout the month.

Handel’s Messiah

On December 20 and 21, the ASO renews one of its most beloved traditions with a performance of Handel’s Messiah. The 18th-century oratorio, which tells the story of Jesus’ life, has become a Christmas tradition for many, particularly its iconic Hallelujah chorus performed by over 90 voices.

Both performances of Handel’s Messiah will be conducted by special guest conductor James M. Meaders, founder of the famous Vox Anima choral group in London.

A Viennese Celebration

Looking for New Year’s Eve plans? Make it on to remember by ringing in 2025 with the ASO’s 20th annual performance of A Viennese Celebration.

Spirited Conductor Christopher Confessore will lead a special-themed performance of a lively and festive collection of Strauss family compositions that will have you ready for the new year ahead.
