Wind Creek Hospitality to acquire Birmingham Racecourse

Wind Creek Hospitality plans to purchase the Birmingham Racecourse.

Under the proposed deal, Wind Creek, which is owned by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, will buy the entertainment center from the McGregor family, the current owners.

The sale is expected to be concluded in early 2025.

Wind Creek is a fast-growing gaming company

Based in Atmore, Alabama, Wind Creek is one of the fastest-growing gaming companies in the country.

According to the news release announcing the deal, the company has committed to working closely with local elected and racing officials on the sale and expansion plans.

Birmingham Racecourse is 37 years old

The Birmingham Racecourse opened in 1987 at the cost of $85 million. The cost of the current sale has not been disclosed.
