Life can be a lot sometimes—work, seasonal blues and everyday stress.

If you’re anything like me, it’s easy to forget to take care for yourself when everything starts piling up.

Luckily, Frothy Monkey in Homewood and Birmingham is the perfect place to rest and reset.

1. Sip on beneficial blends

Honeybliss Herbal Tea at Frothy Monkey can help you relax. (Nathan Watson / Bham Now)

There’s nothing like a hot cup of tea or coffee to help you relax, but when it’s loaded with good-for-you greens and spices? Even better.

Whenever I need to unwind or energize, Frothy Monkey is the perfect one-stop shop for a calming tea or invigorating coffee.

Here’s a couple of my favorite drinks:

  • Honeybliss Herbal Tea + local honey
  • Golden Monkey Latte with ginger + turmeric

Wondering what else you can sip? Check out their full menu.

2. Cozy up with comfort food

Fall and winter are prime comfort food seasons, but you can enjoy feel-good eats any time of year at Frothy Monkey.

The best part? You’re not just treating yourself to tasty food—you’re fueling your body with wholesome, nutritious ingredients. No deep fryers or microwaves here.

Plus, they’ve got plenty of vegan options, so there’s something for everyone.

Check out my favorite dishes:

  • Shrimp & Grits
  • BE-Hive Bowl (vegan option)

There’s also nothing wrong with indulging in a sweet treat or cocktail sometimes—especially when they look as good as they taste!

Here’s what satisfies my sweet tooth at Frothy Monkey:

  • Flourless Chocolate Cake (gluten free)
  • Cold Brew Martini

3. Feel good supporting local farmers

Sometimes the best way to nurture yourself is to support others in your community.

Frothy Monkey ethically sources their ingredients from local farmers, which means not only are you getting fresh, quality food and drinks—you’re also supporting small businesses. It’s a win-win!

Here are some of the regional farmers Frothy Monkey sources their ingredients from:

  • Bee Creek Farm
  • High Garden teas
  • Atlanta Dairies

4. Hours for every schedule

I’m more of a night owl when it comes to getting things done, while most of my friends prefer the daytime hustle. There’s one thing we all agree on—Frothy Monkey is our favorite spot to work and stay focused.

It’s also a great spot to catch up with each other, despite our ever-changing schedules.

Frothy Monkey is open from 7AM to 9PM every day, so it’s easy to wind down after work, grab lunch with a friend or just hang out on the weekend.

5. Surround yourself with community

When I’ve had a hard day, I want to be surrounded by those who care about me.

To me, good company is an essential part of self-care, and Frothy Monkey agrees.

They welcome everyone and strive to be an inclusive space in their communities. The staff aren’t just employees; they’re neighbors and friends, dedicated to creating a safe space for every visitor.

It’s empowering to know that Frothy Monkey supports its community from farm to table, and that’s what truly keeps me coming back.
