About Birmingham Pastor George Shamblin
George Shamblin’s life didn’t always follow God’s path. But eventually, he found his way.
In 1995, he left his career in pharmaceutical sales to enroll at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi.
Over a decade later in 2012, he became a pastor at The Center for Executive Leadership in Birmingham—a faith-based ministry focused on counseling businessmen and professionals.
Here, he teaches Bible studies and disciples others at various stages in their spiritual growth.
In 2022, he continued his own spiritual growth by co-founding The Overseas Initiative (TOI) with his brother Keith—a Birmingham missions ministry to Cuba.
TOI’s goal is to empower Christians so they can become beacons of hope and opportunity across Cuba.

When George isn’t performing with his band or on a mission trip in Cuba, you can find him writing.
Since 2020, he’s written and published three books—his newest, The Four Faces of Christ, will be released on Friday, November 1 on Amazon and in local bookstores like Little Professor in Homewood.
About The Four Faces of Christ
The Four Faces of Christ unveils a mixture of portrayals of Jesus as presented in the Gospels, with each section focusing on a different aspect of his identity:
- The gentle Lamb
- The triumphant Lion
- The humble Servant
- The eternal Word
Some interesting things about the book include:
- It’s great for groups, whether at church or in book clubs with friends. Each chapter includes discussion questions designed to foster meaningful conversations within groups.
- It includes weekly tasks that will inspire and challenge you to live out Scripture daily.
“Every aspect of Christianity is intended to be lived out in community. But we’ve all gotten pulled apart from each other lately. If a group gathers for no other reason than to look deeply at Jesus, that’s as good as it gets.”

What message does George hope readers get from his book?
“You can’t see Jesus and not like Him. His followers might get in the way, but not Him. This book points in one direction: to see more of Him and less of us.”
