There’s a new restaurant and bar in The Magic City! Located at 2024 Green Springs Highway, Sands of Sahara is owned by Simba, Paige, David and Olu—a quartet of entrepreneurs who met through the University of Alabama.

“My partners come from Nigeria and Kenya, so we really wanted to build off of their background and bring something unique to the city.”

The new restaurant and bar specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with an American flair, offering simple, high-quality dishes like:

  • Hand-breaded mozzarella balls
  • A hummus trio featuring three different hummuses made in-house
  • A “Feast” with shrimp, beef, chicken and honey-glazed salmon kebabs
  • Sides like rosemary-infused potatoes, Greek salads and garlic truffle French Fries

  • A Macho Espresso Martini
  • The Habibi Kiss, made with Reposado tequila, rose water, lime juice and other tropical juices

Sands of Sahara opens on Saturday, Oct. 26

“To anyone who comes from a different cultural background and feels like they don’t have a home, we want you at Sands of Sahara.

We’ll have something new every night—including belly dancers and fire performances on Saturday nights.

Come and check out something new and exciting in the city!”
