Birmingham is well-known for its rich history and impressive restaurant scene, but did you know there’s also a thriving community of car collectors here in The Magic City?

We attended a recent Birmingham-area car show to find out more about this unique local community. Plus, we got a sneak peek at an exciting new addition opening near Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds next year.

Hosted by MOB INC., or “Motorists of Birmingham in Nice Cars”, the most recent car show at Inverness Parkway featured dozens of vintage, high-end and rare vehicles.

It’s not just about showing off their luxury rides–for these car owners, it’s a celebration of history, culture and a passion for automotives.

Inside Alabama’s hidden collector community

Did you ever hear the story about the man in Warrior, Alabama, who quietly kept a million-dollar car collection in a barn?

Let me fill you in: way back in the 1960s, Alabama resident Earl Trammell began working on cars from his own garage. Over several decades, Trammell acquired an extensive collection of rare, hardly-used vehicles.

After he passed in 2022, at least 20 vehicles were discovered in Trammell’s backyard barn valuing roughly $1M—including a 1998 Indy Pace Car with only 23 miles on the odometer.
