New upscale steak + seafood restaurant opening in downtown Birmingham, Nov. 8

Armour House, a highly anticipated neighborhood restaurant in downtown Birmingham, is slated to open on Friday, November 8.

Located at 2309 1st Avenue North, the restaurant is led by Executive Chef Jeffrey Compton and local entrepreneurs Rollins Montgomery and Chris Reebals.

The trio plan to introduce brasserie-inspired fare, including open-fire grilled steaks and fresh raw bar offerings.

Some of the dishes on Armour House’s menu include:

  • Black Angus Beef Tenderloin with Pomme Puree 
  • Bluefin Tuna Crudo with Huckleberry + Champagne Granita 
  • Charred Broccolini
  • Lamb Shank Ju

Beverage options include:

  • Classic and inventive cocktails
  • A thoughtfully curated selection of beers
  • A 300+ label wine list featuring First Growth Bordeaux and Dom Perignon by the glass

The new restaurant can accommodate up to 116 guests at the chef’s counter, main dining room or the outdoor patio. 

In addition to Armour House, the project includes Pogo—a hidden speakeasy located within the historic walls of the Armour & Co. building.

Upscale dining downtown expanding

The opening of Armour House will be the second upscale restaurant to open downtown this fall. 

In September, Sloana new concept from the owners of Bocca Ristorante and Bistro 218—opened at 2308 2nd Avenue North.
