A local sensation

At first glance, Charlie Campbell is an easygoing kid with a particular love for all things basketball.

If you take a closer look, Charlie is a sensational singer that loves Teddy Swims. He loves the song “Lose Control” singer so much that he sang this tune during his first day at basketball camp and instantly turned into a viral sensation.

His coach, Charles Newton, is beyond intrigued by Charlie’s musical interest and proud to welcome him to the camp.

“Him singing was so cool. To feel that comfortable and confident was really cool.

Truthfully for us the rest of the HOOPERS cheering & going crazy for him was what took it over the edge. That is what HOOPS is about and why we started this.

Our whole goal is to build future leaders that lead with LOVE (Living On Valued Energy).”

As far as becoming famous, Charlie would rather remain the exact same: being driven to play basketball and be a kid.

“After this went viral we spoke with Charlie about it and he gave the coolest answer: ‘Coach Newt, I just want to be known as a HOOPER here. I don’t care about being famous.’ I though this was really cool and really mature for a kid to say.”
