Meet the five startups in Bronze Valley’s Fall Cohort
In early 2023, global startup accelerator gener8tor teamed up with Birmingham-based early-stage venture capital fund Bronze Valley to launch the inaugural Bronze Valley Investment Accelerator.
The Investment Accelerator focuses on supporting female entrepreneurs + entrepreneurs of color. Accepted startups take part in an intensive, 12-week cohort-based program that includes:
- 1:1 coaching
- Mentorship-driven programming
- More than $1M in deals and perks
- 100+ connections through the gener8tor network of mentors and investors
The program is made possible with support from Innovate Alabama, Alabama Power, BlueCross BlueSheild of Alabama, First Horizon, Pinnacle, Regions and Spire.
The five startups selected for Bronze Valley’s Fall 2024 cohort are:
- Companion Candles, a pet-safe home products company based in Chicago, IL
- EmpowerRx, a healthcare workforce marketplace based out of Nashville, TN
- Pay4Me, a cross-border payments company for international students based in Boise, ID
- Pye, a fintect company specializing in customizable, self-ordering kiosks based out of Hoover, AL
- Roam, a work management platform for creatives based out of New York, NY
“It’s an honor to work alongside these five remarkable companies as they scale their businesses.
This program goes beyond mentorship; it fosters deep connections between these founders and Birmingham’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
I’m eager to see the meaningful partnerships that will emerge here in Alabama.”
Allison Swagler, Managing Director, gener8tor’s Bronze Valley Investment Accelerator
At the end of the 12-week program, each startup’s founder will showcase their companies to investors, community partners and the public at the regional Founder Fest event, hosted Dec. 10 and 11 in Birmingham.
“Bronze Valley is pleased to bring these dynamic companies to Birmingham, furthering our mission to advance innovation and economic growth in Alabama.
These companies show incredible promise, and we are excited to see the impact they will make on the state’s innovation landscape and beyond.”
Neill S. Wright, President and CEO, Bronze Valley
