Join Birmingham Squadron NBA G League tryout for 2024 season

Don’t throw away your shot at becoming an NBA player.

The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, is hosting an open tryout for local players on Saturday, September 21 at Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham.

How do you sign up?

Local tryouts are held across the NBA G League annually. Last year, former University of Alabama and University of Vermont player, Daniel Giddens made the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA G League affiliate.

You can do this. Here are the steps in the process.

  • To enter, participants must register
  • A non-refundable fee of $250 is need to register and take part in the tryout
  • Participants must meet the NBA G League eligibility requirements to play, pay the fee and fill out the registration form, medical consent form and eligibility form 

The deadline is September 20 at 5PM Central time. All forms are available by using the registration link above.

At the tryout, participants get to show off their skills and talents in front of Birmingham Squadron coaches and basketball operations staff for an opportunity to earn a spot on the Squadron roster for the 2024-25 season.
