New restaurant, Meri Moon, now open in downtown Montevallo [PHOTOS]

A new restaurant has opened in downtown Montevallo.

Called Meri Moon, the eatery is owned by Montevallo resident Rachel Phillips, as well as former Eclipse Bookstore owner Cheryl Patton.

Located at the former Strand Theater on 618 Main Street, the space opened for breakfast and lunch on July 2nd and started serving dinner this past weekend.

Meri Moon’s diverse menu

If you are looking for an eclectic meal that is healthy and made from scratch, Meri Moon is the place for you.

Here are a few of their menu items:

  • The Meri Waffle — Mini waffle made with banana and Medders Farm chocolate peanut butter
  • Grinch Toast — Sliced avocado on wheatberry toast topped with Everything bagel seasoning
  • Out of this World Boiled Eggs — Boiled eggs topped with sriracha 
  • Celestial Chicken Salad — Sandwich made with chicken meat, crunchy celery and pecan pieces
  • Southern Board — A mini charcuterie board with your choice of chicken salad or Pimento cheese served with fire crackers, “Wickles Pickles,” Conecuh sausages deviled eggs and boiled peanuts

Each item is available throughout the day.

“You can get Meri Waffle at six o’clock at night or a Southern Board at 10:00 in the morning. Our homemade pimento cheese has had great reviews.”

In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner items, Meri Moon sells wine by the glass and beer with your meal. They also serve coffee, tea, smoothies and shakes.

Hours and Social

Meri Moon is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30AM to 8:00PM.
