Alabama A&M is ending its efforts to buy the Birmingham-Southern College campus.

Last month, the school announced it had offered a $65 million package to purchase the school which had closed on May 31st.

In a statement sent to Bham Now, A&M made it clear that with no deal on the horizon, they intend to turn their focus back to the main campus.

“With no deal in Birmingham, we will shift our resources to be invested on our main campus in Huntsville as we achieved record enrollment in the 2023-2024 academic year.”

Shannon Reeves, Vice President of Government Affairs & External Relations, Alabama A&M University

Miles College sign letter of intent with BSC

What’s next for the BSC campus?

It looks like it is now Miles College’s turn to negotiate the possible purchase of BSC.

Miles College, the 126-year-old private liberal arts HBCU in Fairfield, Alabama, signed a letter of intent (LOI) in June to start negotiating with BSC.
