On Tuesday, July 2, lifestyle magazine Southern Living published The 17 Best Farmers’ Markets In The South, highlighting several successful farmers’ markets—including Birmingham’s own Market at Pepper Place.

Other farmers’ markets on Southern Livings’ list include:

  • Richland Park Farmers’ Market in Nashville, Tennessee
  • Mississippi Farmers’ Market in Jackson, Mississippi
  • Athens Farmers Market in Athens, Georgia

In the section about The Market at Pepper Place, Southern Living noted Birmingham’s knack for “repurposing its industrial spaces into beautiful community hubs.” The Market at Pepper Place is located at Pepper Place, a former Dr. Pepper Bottling Plant repurposed into a commercial/retail development by Sloss Real Estate in the 1990s.
