The event is held each year at Barber Motorsports Park, an 880-acre, multi-purpose racing facility. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Birmingham, Barber Motorsports Park is one of the most beautiful racecourses in the country—in fact, racing enthusiasts often call it “The Augusta National of Motorsports.”

What better way to kick off the weekend than by participating in the annual INDY 5K? Presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, the INDY 5k will take participants down a 17-turn course on the Barber Motorsports Track itself.

If you’re a car enthusiast, don’t miss out on visiting the Car Corral. Open to the public and free to view, the Car Corral features a diverse array of exotic and classic cars, owned by collectors from around the country.

3. Hang with friends & family in the Fan Zone
The Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix is fun for the whole family, and nowhere is that more true than the Fan Zone. At the Fan Zone, you’ll find:

- A Ferris wheel

5. Proceeds benefit Children’s of Alabama
Last year, the event raised more than $350,000 for Children’s of Alabama, which provides the finest pediatric health services to all its patients. This year, Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix will continue its support of the incredible institution by donating:
- A portion of ticket sales
- All proceeds from the Ferris Wheel in the Fan Zone
- All proceeds from the INDY 5K
Plus, Medical Properties Trust will host a charity dinner and silent auction in the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum on Friday night, April 26. All proceeds from this dinner and the silent auction will benefit Children’s of Alabama.
