Plus, there will also be a live performance from the Sozo Children’s Choir.
Now on their 5th US tour, this group of 13 energetic kids from Uganda, Africa has been singing and dancing since 2016.
I had a nice talk with Robinah and Rogers, two choir members, while we explored the zoo where they will soon be performing.
They shared with me their love for singing and dancing with their friends.
Robinah shared that she specifically enjoys being with the group a lot and staying with host families when they travel.
Rogers joined the choir in 2022, and he’s so happy he did.
He feels thankful to God for bringing him to the choir and loves it when people in the audience have fun watching them sing.
About Sozo Children
Sozo Children is a Birmingham-based ministry that helps kids in Uganda who have been rescued from extreme circumstances such as abuse, abandonment and trafficking.
They give these kids a safe place to live, healthcare, counseling and a chance to go to school.
The ministry also has a fancy thrift store called Sozo Trading Co. in Birmingham.
This store helps pay for the things the kids in Uganda need, and it’s also a place where people can get involved in helping others in their community.
“Our goal as a ministry is to equip each of the children in our care to be effective disciples for Jesus.
They are the next generation of leaders in their homeland, so we aren’t trying to westernize them but we equip them by walking alongside them sharing our common faith in Christ.
We hope everyone who comes to Sozo Safari will visit with us and learn more about the children we serve in Africa.”
