NEW: Indian restaurant plans to open in English Village this spring

Plans are underway to open a new Indian restaurant in Mountain Brook’s English Village this spring.

Called Curry Corner, it will be located at the site of the former Chester’s Test Kitchen in front of the statue of Civitas at 2037 Cahaba Rd. 35223.

Indian delicacies at the Curry Corner

According to its owner, longtime local restauranteur Bhuwan Bashel, the Curry Corner will feature the following Indian delicacies:

  • Butter Chicken
  • Tikka Masala 
  • Paneer Masala
  • Tandoori dishes 
  • Biryani varieties  
  • Pakoras
  • Lamb and seafood specialties 

In addition to the Indian cuisine, there will be a full bar.

The place will also serve lunch and dinner, between 10:30AM to 8:30PM, 7 days a week.

The Mountain Brook Chamber is excited to see restaurants coming to English Village, joining popular eateries Continental Bakery/Chez Lulu & Vino Birmingham.

Curry Corneer is located next to where the Civitas Restaurant closed in January. The owner confirmed he is currently working to secure a Mountain Brook business and liquor license and expects to open the new restaurant this spring.
