Fun fact: The Double Decker Arts Festival began in 1996 to support local businesses during a slow tourism period.
Inspired by a British double decker bus, the festival quickly became an annual two-day bash hosted in the city’s historic downtown square.

The lineup for 2024 is especially thrilling.
The music kicks off on Friday, April 26 at 6PM with Grace Bowers and continues into the weekend with a stellar lineup of artists.

4. Explore festival artwork on Saturday, April 27 from 10AM-5:30PM
Each year, artists nationwide submit their portfolios for the festival’s juried art show.
This year, over 100 artists will showcase their work from paintings to jewelry, fabric goods and pottery.
Separate from the juried art show, local artists submit an original design each year to be considered for the official artwork of the festival.
This year’s featured artist is Jules Mikell, an Oxford native known for various contributions to the local arts scene, including directing shows at Theatre Oxford and working at the town’s cherished indie bookstore, Square Books.

The Double Decker Arts Festival is family friendly, with activities for all ages. Make sure to check out:
- Over twenty locally-owned food vendors offering a taste of local favorites.
- “Kid Zone” with games and activities for children while parents enjoy Saturday’s music.
