Workshops Empowered Incorporated (WE Inc.) is a nonprofit that focuses on training people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
WE Inc. strives to allow everyone they serve to reach their highest level of employment.
The bake-off is presented by WE Inc.’s Junior Board. Here are the deets:
- When: Saturday, April 6 | 2-4PM
- Where: Cahaba Brewing Company, 4500 5th Ave S Building C, Birmingham, AL 35222
- Cost: $20 | Children 10 and under are free
- With your purchase, you get to sample each competing baked good + a ticket for a Cahaba Brewing beer.

WE Made
What makes this bake-off so unique? I’m glad you asked. All of the baked goods participating start with WE Made’s Southern Staples baking mixes.
WE Made is a program of WE Inc. that provides job training in the food service and retail industries. With WE Made mixes, sprays and fire starters, participants get hands-on work experience, a steady income and job readiness training.
Participants of WE Made graduate with tangible skills in the food service and retail industry. Plus, with the network of community partners, WE Made connects graduates with jobs around the Greater Birmingham Area.
What’s in store at The Great Birmingham Bake-Off?
Now that we’ve decided why you should attend The Great Birmingham Bake-Off, let’s go over what you can expect while you’re there.
There will be live music, food trucks and WE Made mixes and other products for sale.
Local celebrity judges will determine the Grand Champion and the Team Spirit awards. Here’s the lineup of judges:
